There’s a silver lining to this whole situation. It’s shined a light on the importance of your health and your immune system. So on that note I’m really excited that people are aware of their health.
But I don’t want to forget that it’s a critical time to also pay attention to your mental and emotional health. Many are working from home, eating from home, taking care of family from home, working out at home, even worse, you could be struck at home ALONE.
I mean in the year of 2020, it’s mentally and emotionally tough to be single, it’s so stressful being alone, in the Netherlands single people have been advised to find a “sex buddy” or as some call it, “friends with benefits”. Let’s face it we all need a little love.
In other parts of the world, I’ve heard about the COVID 19 and the 19 represents the 19 pounds we all put on. Let’s face it, I’ve been stressed, we’ve all been stressed. This is a time in our life we have a lot of questions, and no one has any answers. What do you do when you’re stressed and bored? Most likely it’s eating, pointless stress eating. But we can fix that.
The quick answer to the stress and the massive change that we’ve all endured, is “SELF CARE”.
It’s time to focus on self and simply take care of self.
We should be doing things like moving, reading, walking, running, talking. Finding anything that moves us to a place of peace.
But I wanted to leave you with this article, I found it to be very practical and full of short simple things that you can do to give yourself a mental boost.
The Exercise Snack?!
The honest truth is we’re all busy, and the older I get the easier it is to get lost in life. You’re watching the kids or just doing what you have to do, things have a tendency to get lost in the shuffle. Pre-Fatherhood, I was a eat, sleep, live in the gym type-of-guy, but now nothing is about me. It’s all about the wife and kids, but I love this article because it’s so true that to get in shape or live a healthy life we don’t always have to go to an expensive gym or spend an hour trying to work out. Check this article out, I love the idea of an exercise snack. So simple, that none of us should have an excuse about working out after you read this.

Remember Stretching In Gym Class
As we continue to workout one of the most neglected phases of your wellness program is probably your mobility program. I admit I lie to myself everyday, and after every workout I usually say, “I’ll stretch in a few.” Truthfully, it never happens. But it should be a priority. Not only does it reduce the chance of injury as you workout, but it also helps you improve your performance. Have you ever tried to squat and it just felt awkward? It’s probably your mobility.
